Food Drive Success

Cushion Cut Engagement Ring

When the forest fires began in May in Alberta, it deeply affected everyone in the Paris Jewellers family. As was the case across the province and country, if you didn’t have a loved one displaced, you knew someone who did.
At the time Paris Jewellers had already been planning an event entitled “Food for Batteries”, wherein donations for the food bank would be accepted as payment when getting your watch battery replaced. But we knew we needed to do more in response to the significant need in our home province.
Immediately we began receiving calls from the Brand Ambassadors at our locations across Canada asking, what can we do to help? It is inspiring to work with a team that cares so deeply. We first collected the high need items to bring to the donation centres, made a Red Cross contribution, and delivered hand written cards of support and encouragement to those who were displaced. The cards read “we love you Fort Mac”, and “we are with you”. It was a simple gesture that we hope was a bright moment in those challenging days. As a team, we decided that we would begin our food drive in every store early, and have it run for an entire month instead of just one day.

Every customer who brought in a food bank donation would also receive a discount of 10% off as an added bonus for their generosity. We knew that while the food banks in Alberta would be exceptionally taxed during this crisis, all food banks in all of our markets could surely benefit from the added donations.

We are thrilled to report that our teams collected over 2000 food items for the food banks in our markets!! Please accept our sincere gratitude if you were a donator or helped us spread the word. Our customers are the absolute best and your generosity of spirit is a bright light for our teams!

While the road to rebuild will be long and challenging, we are grateful to know that in times of need there are always helping hands and hopeful hearts.

With Gratitude, The Paris Jewellers Family
